据路透社1月14日报道，越南一名35岁妇女患禽流感死亡。官方担心，新增死亡病例是由于越南南部家禽养殖场中禽流感病毒的迅速蔓延造成的。

这名妇女是过去两周内越南第五位死于禽流感的患者。她在两周前曾食用感染病毒的鸡肉，然后就出现发高烧、呼吸困难症状。她入院后检测H5N1病毒呈阳性，于1月12日在胡志明市热带病医院死亡。

越南农业部动物卫生部门公布的报告表明，11日和12日在湄公河三角洲的两个省发现新增禽流感感染者6例，卫生部门已经宰杀近1万只家禽。

13日在湄公河三角洲地区还有一名病人死亡，一个实验室正在负责确定此人是否死于禽流感病毒感染。到目前为止，大多数禽流感死亡患者是由于食用病鸡或者居住在感染病毒家禽的附近。但是，卫生专家指出，1月4日死亡的9岁男孩并没有食用鸡肉，而是在感染病毒的河里游过泳。

禽流感自去年年底在越南再次爆发后，已经造成25人死亡，整个亚洲至少37人死亡。为防止病毒传染而大规模宰杀家禽将影响一些国家禽业的发展。

目前，马来西亚宣布没有发现禽流感感染病例，泰国宣布自去年11月之后没有新增病例。

A 35-year-old woman has died of bird flu in Vietnam, the country´s fifth fatality from the disease since late December last year.

A hospital doctor says the patient from southern Tra Vinh province was admitted in Ho Chi Minh City´s Hospital of Tropical Diseases on January 11.

"She died on Tuesday," he said.

He says the hospital is treating only one other patient confirmed to be infected with the deadly virus, who was in a critical condition.

Since late December a 16-year-old girl, an 18-year-old woman and two boys aged six and nine have died of the virus.
