Based on an outbreak of human-swine co-infection with H1 subtype influenza virus occurred on a farm in Hubei Province in 2023,the process of investigation and response,as well as related data were reviewed, the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of the outbreak,as well as the correlation between the disease progression in pig populations and the onset time of infected employees were analyzed to identify potential risks for the occurrence and spread of the outbreak. 13 employees and 3100 pigs were infected, with an incidence rate of 79.5% in pigs, and 58 pigs died, resulting in a fatality rate of 1.9%. It was analyzed that the outbreak originated from an employee infected with H1 subtype influenza virus who returned to the farm, leading to rapid spread of the virus throughout the farm within one week, affecting all employees and the pigs under his care. The investigation concluded that it was a typical case of human-swine zoonotic influenza, originating from the employee. In conclusion, the occurrence and spread of swine influenza could be effectively controlled through removing infection sources, and rapidly interrupting transmission routes(particularly aerosol transmission). It was recommended to strengthen employees′ health management, improve their training on zoonotic disease prevention and control, strictly implement biosafety measures, and optimize systems of management and health inspection for pigs to prevent possible recurrence of such outbreak
