China:Two bird flu outbreaks reported in Xinjiang

Outbreaks of bird flu have been reported in China´s remote western province of Xinjiang where authorities have culled more than 322,500 birds.

The outbreaks in two counties neighbouring Urumqi, the provincial capital, were discovered on Nov. 11 when 1,400 chickens were found dead. The National reference lab in Harbin confirmed the outbreak were caused by HPAI H5N1 on Nov. 14.
