An 8-year-old girl from Cambodia´s southern province of Kampot has died of bird flu, raising the country´s total fatality since January 2005 to three, an official said Sunday.

He added that "we also sent the samples of the girl abroad for further confirmation that she died of H5N1."
The girl died on Thursday night at a hospital in Phnom Penh.
Cambodia´s second bird flu victim, died on March, was a 28-year-old man and the first one was a 25-year-old woman who died in Vietnam´s hospital and lived only 20 km away from the second victim. The three were all from Kompot province bordering Vietnam.
