Thailand´s follow-up report No. 29, received 25 Oct 2004

The following summarized data on highly pathogenic avian influenza
(HPAI) in Thailand are derived from the follow-up report No. 29, sent
to the OIE by Dr. Yukol Limlamthong, Director General of the Thai
Department of Livestock, on 23 Oct 2004. Cases presented in this
report were detected during the AI active surveillance campaign,
during October 2004, in which every village in the country was
screened for AI. In total, 166 new outbreaks were reported during the
said period and involved the destruction of (incomplete figures) 20
442 avians.
The following (29) provinces and their respective districts have been
reportedly affected:
