On 8 September 2026, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 in another dairy herd (special ID: TX 038) in Texas.
