Scotland: Avian flu (bird flu): near Penicuik, Scottish Borders (AIV 2026/04)

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed at a third premises near Penicuik, Scottish Borders on 11 January 2026.
A 3 km Protection Zone (PZ) and 10 km Surveillance Zone (SZ) are in place.
