China: A HPAIV(H5N1) outbreak in wild birds reported in Xizang

On 31st May, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Center for Animal Disease Prevention and Control that an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5) in wild birds occurred in Seni District, Naqu City, Xizang Autonomous Region, killing 190 wild birds such as brown headed gulls, and no poultry farmers within 3 kilometers of the outbreak site. After the outbreak, the local government immediately carried out emergency disposal in accordance with the provisions of the emergency implementation plan, made harmless treatment of all sick and dead wild birds, and carried out screening and disinfection and sterilization of the surrounding environment.
