China: Outbreaks of HPAIV (H5) reported in wild birds in Qinghai province

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Center for Animal Disease Prevention and Control. After being confirmed by the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory, highly pathogenic H5 subtype avian influenza outbreaks occurred in Gangcha County, Haibei Prefecture, Qinghai Province and Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, resulting in 275 deaths of wild birds such as fishing gulls. After the outbreak, the local authorities immediately carried out standardized disposal in accordance with relevant emergency plans, and carried out monitoring and investigation of surrounding poultry. No abnormal situation of poultry was found.
