China: A HPAIV H5N1 outbreak in wild birds reported in Fujian

On December 11, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Center for Animal Disease Control and Prevention, which was confirmed by the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory. A highly pathogenic avian influenza virus outbreak (H5N1) of wild birds reported in the wild mudflat of Tantou Town, Changle District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, and 7 wild birds such as wild barenecked ducks died of the disease. After the outbreak, the local authorities immediately carried out standardized disposal in accordance with relevant emergency plans, and carried out monitoring and investigation of surrounding poultry. No abnormal situation of poultry was found.
