Affected population: A Whooper swan was found dead. It was sent to the
National Veterinary Institute for laboratory analysis as part of the
national surveillance program for avian influenza.

Affected population: A Canada goose was found dead. It was sent to the
National Veterinary Institute for laboratory analysis as part of the
national surveillance program for avian influenza.

Epidemiology
Source of the outbreak(s) or origin of infection: Contact with wild
species

Epidemiological comments: In accordance with the OIE Terrestrial
Animal Health Code, Article 10.4.1, point 8, this outbreak does not
change the disease-free status of Sweden as this is a wild bird, and
therefore do not fall within the OIE definition of poultry.

Control measures applied in wild: Official destruction of animals
products, official disposal of carcasses, by-products and waste
