Affected population
A Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) was found with clinical signs of ataxia and falling over and was for this reason euthanized. It was sent to the National Veterinary Institute for labortatory analysis as part of the national surveillance program for avian influenza. Laboratory testing eith real-time PCR and virus sequencing was performed with positve result for highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N5.

A Common goldeneye (Bucephala clangula) was found dead. It was sent to the National Veterinary Institute for labortatory analysis as part of the national surveillance program for avian influenza.
