Follow-up report No. 2 New outbreaks in wild birds are as follows: Outbreak 1 - Tokigawa-Town 1 – A dead Strix uralensis (Ural owl) was collected on 23 December 2020 and tested against avian influenza virus. On 30 December, National Institute of Animal Health conducted RT-PCR and gene sequencing tests and confirmed that the subtype of the virus was H5N8.
