Affected population
This is a establishment with parent poultry for the production of day old broiler chickens. It is divided into 12 buildings (1-12) that forms 7 separate epidemiological units. Each epidemiological unit has its own staff with strict biosecurity including a considerable distance between the units. Symtoms (high mortality) have only been seen in house 7, which forms an epidemiological unit with house 8.

A protection zone (3 km) and a surveillance zone (10 km) have been put in place around the establishment. All the poultry in this epidemiological unit (house 7 and 8) will be euthanized. All other restrictions and necessary measures according to Directive 2005/94/EG are/will be applied, including a prohibition of transportation of live birds, hatching eggs and not heat-treated poultry products in this area.
