On 14 December 2020, LHSC confirmed H5 by RT-PCR and RRT-PCR. On 15 December, stamping-out and other control measures (including disinfection) were completed. On 17 December, NIAH confirmed H5N8 HPAI by RT-PCR and sequencing. There is an epidemiologically related poultry slaughterhouse: the outbreak 2 (Hyuga-City 2) in this report. As of the outbreak 2 (Kawaminami-Town 1) (epidemiologically related poultry slaughterhouse to Case 26): Stamping-out and control measures (including disinfection) were completed on 15 December. As of the outbreak 3 (Sukumo-City 1) in this report (Case 27): On 15 December 2020, local veterinary service in Kochi Pref. received notification from a layer farm and confirmed influenza A virus by antigen-capture kits. On 16 December, LHSC confirmed H5 by RT-PCR and RRT-PCR. On 17 December, NIAH confirmed H5N8 HPAI by RT-PCR and sequencing. On 17 December, stamping-out was completed.
