As of the outbreak 1 (Gojo-City 1) in this report (Case 16): On 5 December 2020, local veterinary service in Nara Pref. received notification from a laying hen farm and confirmed influenza A virus by antigen-capture kits. On 6 December 2020, LHSC confirmed H5 by RT-PCR and RRT-PCR. On 7 December, NIAH confirmed H5N8 HPAI by RT-PCR and sequencing. On 7 December, stamping-out was completed. On 11 December, control measures (including disinfection) were completed. As of the outbreak 2 (Mihara-City 1) in this report (Case 17): On 6 December 2020, local veterinary service in Hiroshima Pref. received notification from a laying hen farm and confirmed influenza A virus by antigen-capture kits. On 7 December, LHSC confirmed H5 by RT-PCR and RRT-PCR. On 8 December, NIAH confirmed H5N8 HPAI by RT-PCR and sequencing. On 9 December, stamping-out was completed. On 17 December, control measures (including disinfection) were completed. There is an epidemiologically related farm: the outbreak 3 (Mihara-City 2) in this report. As of the outbreak 3(Mihara-City 2) in this report (epidemiologically related farm to Case 17): Stamping-out and other control measures (including disinfection) were completed on 9 and 17 December, respectively.
