Barnacle Goose:Branta leucopsis(Anatidae) 1 0 1 0
Affected population A Barnacle goose (Branta leucopsis) was found with clinical signs of ataxia and falling over and was for this reason euthanised. It was sent to the National Veterinary Institute for laboratory analysis as part of the national surveillance program for avian influenza. Laboratory testing with real-time PCR and virus sequencing was performed with a positive result for highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N5.
