On 21 november 2020, a 3 km protection zone and a 10 km surveillance zone have been established around the outbreak Witmarsum. In the 3 km zone there are three other premises with poultry. All premises in the 3 km zone have been screened. There were no signs of possible infection. All test results of the screening were tested negative. The subtype is HPAI H5N8 and is confirmed by the national reference laboratory. All susceptible animals on the infected premises have been killed.
