Epidemiological comments The owner of chicken farm in Yunlin County reported to the Local Animal Disease Inspection Authority (LADIA) that chickens have abnormal mortality on 08 August 2020. H5N2 subtype HPAI was detected and confirmed by the Animal Health Research Institute (AHRI) on 12 August 2020. All animals on the infected farm have been culled. Thorough cleaning and disinfection have been conducted after stamping out operation. To prevent the outbreak of new HPAI case from spreading, surrounding poultry farms within a three-kilometer radius of the infected farm are under intensified surveillance. The LADIA also will conduct clinical investigation and sample all the 87 poultry farms within 3km radius of the infected farm.
