On 3rd of September, a greylag goose (Anser anser) was found dead near Bandholm in the municipality Lolland. On 11th of September, the national veterinary institute confirmed highly pathogenic influenza A virus (H5N6) in samples from the goose. | |

Epidemiological comments |
There have been no new outbreaks of infection with influenza A viruses of high pathogenicity since 19 september 2018. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration consider the event to be resolved because no occurrence of infection with influenza A viruses of high pathogenicity has been detected for 3 months. According to article 10.4.1.8 of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Member Countries should not impose bans on the trade in poultry and poultry commodities in response to notification on the presence of any influenza A virus in birds other than poultry. | |
