Affected population

On January 30th, 2018, backyard poultry抯 owner in Om Arm village, Sre Khtum commune, Keo Seima district reported to Provincial Animal Health and Production Office (PAHPO) that there were 14 out of 60 chickens sick with suspected clinical signs of avian influenza. Two samples from chickens which died suddenly were collected by PAHPO staff and sent to National Animal Health and Production Research Institute (NAHPRI) for laboratory diagnosis and confirmation. On February 1st, 2018, the laboratory result confirmed positive of influenza A/H5N1. All susceptible birds in the infected premises have been culled.
