Epidemiological comments |
On 5th January, one Accipiter gentilis (Northern Goshawk) was found dead in Ota ward. On 10th January, a sample derived from it tested positive for influenza A virus by the National Institute for Environmental Studies. On 17th January, a sample was confirmed as positive for H5N6 subtype of higly pathogenic influenza A virus by the National Institute of Animal Health. Enhanced monitoring of wild birds is ongoing within a ten-kilometer radius of the site. | |
