China: CHP closely monitors two additional human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Mainland

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) is closely monitoring two additional human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Shandong and Jiangxi. According to the latest reports of the Mainland health authorities, the patient in Shandong is a 60-year-old man who worked in Jiangsu before onset of illness, while the patient in Jiangxi is a 34-year-old man who was hospitalised for treatment in critical condition.
To date, 480 human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) have been reported by the Mainland health authorities, respectively in Zhejiang (145 cases), Guangdong (121 cases), Jiangsu (63 cases), Shanghai (42 cases), Fujian (28 cases), Hunan (24 cases), Anhui (17 cases), Xinjiang (nine cases), Jiangxi (nine cases), Shandong (six cases), Beijing (five cases), Henan (four cases), Guangxi (three cases), Jilin (two cases), Guizhou (one case) and Hebei (one case).
