China: Cheung Sha Wan bird tested positive for H5N1 in Hong Kong

An Oriental magpie robin found dead in Cheung Sha Wan on February 10 has been confirmed H5N1-positive, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department says.

The carcass was found and collected at Cheung Sha Wan Wholesale Food Market. The species is common in Hong Kong.

To avoid the spread of avian flu people should observe good personal hygiene and avoid personal contact with wild birds or live poultry. Clean your hands thoroughly after coming into contact with them.
