I am delighted to announce that the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) has received a generous grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that will enable 70 young women from developing countries in Africa, Asia and the Asian Sub-continent to attend the 13th International Congress on Infectious Diseases in Kuala Lumpur, June 19-22, 2008. This grant is intended to help women at early stages in their careers to meet and interact with leaders in infectious diseases from around the world.
The Press Release announcing the grant is attached to this email. Detailed information is also available at http://www.isid.org/13th_icid/index.shtml. Please share this news with colleagues who might be eligible and interested in applying or who might know potential applicants. Please help us distribute information about this opportunity and note that the application deadline is February 1, 2008.
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
